An Introduction for Providers
The Code of Health and Disability Services Consumer’s Rights became legally effective on 1 July 1996. It applies to all health and disability support services in New Zealand. The Code gives rights to all consumer’s and places obligations on people and organisations providing services. This DVD provides a short overview of the operation of the Health and Disability Commissioner, the Code of Rights, and the Nation Wide Advocacy Service. The Health and Disability Commissioner has provided a range of posters, leaflets and videos to assist providers in communicating with consumers.
