Auckland DHB - NASC
As part of its Services to Older People, Auckland DHB has a Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC) team that supports elderly people to access services that will assist them to stay in their own home. The service is available to people aged 65 years and over who live in the central Auckland area. This area covers the Western Bays, Hobson, Eastern Bays, Balmoral, Avondale/Roskill, Penrose and Hauraki Gulf Islands area of Auckland City. To access services such as home help or support with personal cares a person must have a needs assessment to determine their eligibility for services and the level of support required. This will usually involve a needs assessor visiting a person in their home to identify what support is required. A person can have support people present.
