New Zealand Audiological Society
The New Zealand Audiological Society (NZAS) represent a number of audiologists throughout New Zealand. Audiologists, who are members of the NZAS are the specialised assessors approved to assess and prescribe equipment for hearing. Therefore they are the professional group that people with hearing impairment must access to be assessed for ESS funded support for hearing aids. NZAS Audiologists are also approved service providers for financial assistance through ACC, War Pensions, Government subsidies and Work and Income. The majority of audiologists work in the private sector and as such there is typically a cost associated with an assessment.
