Te Roopu Taurima O Manukau is an Accedited and Certificated New Zealand Kaupapa Maori Service Provider for intellectually disabled people. 'Providing the best quality residential care for our people'.
This service is for intellectually disabled people who require long-term placement. All our residential mokopuna attend formal functions, attend gym classes, go swimming, attend day services classes (Nga Mahi o Te Ra) and go on visitations to see whanau.
The core aim of all our services is the wellbeing of our mokopuna and that they be provided with a quality of life, to live as individuals and to be provided with a range of choices that lead to self determination and self-empowerment through the concept of 'Tikanga Maori' Values and principles.
As a Residential IntellectualDisability Support Agency Service (RIDSAS) we are contracted to provide services to people who meet the following criteria: • Have an intellectual disability - Must be primary diagnosis of illness • 18 years and over
Our offices are based in Kaikohe, Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton & Christchurch. Our homes for intellectually disabled people are based throughout these regions and Otorohanga, Tokoroa and Raglan.
