Hauora Hokianga
Hauora Hokianga Integrated PHO provides a range of primary health services to the predominantly Maori population residing in the relatively isolated and rural Hokianga area. HHIPHO is a Maori health provider run by a charitable trust, with the aims of seeking equity of access and excellence in healthcare that is responsive to the needs of the Hokianga people. The services are based at a 26 bed primary care hospital in Rawene, including emergency care, outpatients, acute, maternity, continuing care geriatric, and access to specialist consultations. Nine outreach clinics around the area provide access to GP services. In addition dental, mental health, home support, Physiotherapy, health promotion, home support and community development services are provided throughout the community. The service annual health and business plan focus on areas of Maori health gain, particularly on diabetes, cardio-vascular disease and oral health.
